Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, Kangaroo Valley

The Kangaroo Valley is a very special part of Australia near the NSW South Coast. If you’re considering the area for your wedding celebration then you cannot look past the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat as your wedding venue. This venue was unfortunately impacted by the devastating bush fires in 2019/2020 and I am hoping that with rallied support we can help get them booked out again once they are up and running.

Located on the western side of the Kangaroo Valley, the bush retreat has a spectacular perch with amazing views, high above the Kangaroo Valley River. It’s nestled amongst the Australian bush and has an incredible natural rock cathedral (perfect for wedding ceremonies), a sunset deck (with breathtaking views at sunset) and the perfect blank canvas function room for your wedding reception.

There are numerous accommodation options onsite including the main guest lodge and cabins. I am a firm believer that having the option for close family and friends to stay on site, always makes for an even better wedding weekend when you can spend a lot of time together.

The wedding venue is also perfectly mapped out, all the main locations at the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat are just a short walk away. It means you can spend more time enjoying the beautiful scenery and your time in the Kangaroo Valley.

Why I Recommend Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat As Your Wedding Venue (As A Wedding Photographer)

As soon as you enter the drive way venture into the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat it invites you in. The first thing I saw and explored was the incredible sunset deck and I just wanted to spend as much time as I could here.

The views are to die for, so I recommend building in the time to be able to enjoy them for as much of your amazing wedding day as possible!

The relaxed vibe of the location makes it perfect for those wanting to enjoy a wedding weekend away with no hassles. Consider keeping things simple when doing your wedding planning for this special venue.

With all the main locations on site close by, it makes it really easy to be able to capture a lot of beautiful photographs with varied backdrops. I especially love how intimate the rock cathedral is for wedding ceremonies.

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Wedding

  • It can often be cool even in the summer time. When planning your outfits make sure you have something warmer to wear over the top (especially for the bridal party).
  • The best time of the day for wedding photography is as the sun starts to set. With the sunset deck I would plan to enjoy canapes with your wedding guests before we duck off for some photos.
  • Whilst there are lots of accommodation options in the area, things book out fast. Make sure you give yourself and your guests enough time to get accommodation organised when you are considering your wedding date.
  • There are a number of wonderful celebrants, florists, caterers and other wedding suppliers that service this area. If you need a help with your wedding planning then please just let me know!
