The Driftwood Shed is a gorgeous five acre property on the banks of the Shoalhaven river just outside of Nowra on the South Coast of NSW. It’s beautiful location along the river makes for such a beautiful ambience for every Driftwood Shed wedding. The old shed on the property is over 80 years old and has been perfectly styled with old wares and is full of country charm.
The gardens are well kept with lots of interesting little features and collections thoughtfully arranged by the owners. There is also a private jetty on the water and many big and beautiful trees on the property. It’s the perfect spot all year round for an intimate wedding on the river.

To me it’s one of those ultimate DIY wedding venues. You have full control over the styling with the ability to add as much or as little as you like. With the location being so easy going, it is easy to have your wedding ceremony seamlessly move into mingling/canapes before the festivities of the evening kick off.
How To Get The Most Out Of Your Wedding
- The south coast is beautiful all year round. I especially love autumn through the most where you have the warm days and the cool nights, especially great weather for a wedding day!
- The best time of the day for wedding photography is as the sun starts to set. Therefore, it’s always best to build sunset photos into the timeline when doing your wedding planning.
- There are lots of bus services in the area that can pickup/drop off your guests. This is a great way to make sure everyone enjoys the party (and responsibly).
- There are some amazing wedding vendors (such as florists, stylists, caterers and wedding celebrants) that service the area. I am more than happy to recommend
