What can I say, I was absolutely gobsmacked at the amazing location that Holly & Martin had picked for their big day. The Lost World Valley south of Brisbane (and west of the Gold Coast) set the scene for an epic weekend of celebrations with family and friends. Being a place that Marty had fond memories of visiting with his family when growing up, a crazy idea turned into an amazing plan and all was set for a Lost World Valley Wedding.
It actually says a lot about Marty as an individual, someone who is both outlandish with his ambitions and ideas but someone who will actually see them through. This is where Holly compliments him so well, happy to go with the flow and support him as long as it isn’t too far fetched. They have been together for a long time and have collected a very loyal and amazingly fun bunch of friends.
Having crossed paths with Marty online over the years, it took a good mutual friend to join the dots and I was delighted to be asked to travel up to capture their day. The weather was top notch all weekend and I felt so welcomed. Marty had a lot of crazy ideas for the weekend, I was just happy to be onboard to make the most of the location and capture the day as it unfolded.
The weekend had it all, from first dance spin offs into bridal party shakedowns, Heidi (Maid of Honour) and her bridesmaids dropping a crazy good rap as their speech, to one of the most on point speeches I have heard by a best man (Huw), many games on the arcade machine that Marty specifically got just for the wedding.. to finishing the night off by working with Marty on the closing shot. The photos really say it all, so enjoy and a big thank you to Holly & Marty for having me along.
