I met GK a number of years ago when I had not long picked up a camera and started shooting seascapes. He came along to one of the sunrise photo trips I organised and we’ve kept in contact ever since. In mid 2012 he contacted me and told me about his engagement and plans to marry his partner, Dina. We met.. we chatted and we all got on like a house on fire. A few weeks ago we realised it was the perfect time to get together and shoot their pre-wedding/portrait session. They wanted locations that incorporated the inner west and where they formed their relationship.

I cannot wait until the winter wedding of GK & Dina. Up until the wedding, we are going to try and sneak a couple of sunrise shoots in

Jimi & Teresa – A Southern Highlands Portrait Session

What better ‘excuse’ needed for a trip down to the Southern Highlands (Suttons Forest to be specific) than a lovely Portrait Shoot in Autumn! Once again I found myself in a car with Daniel K Cheung (whom I was assisting), Tai (another team member) and a couple. This time it would be a couple we have gotten to know very well over the course of 2012, Jimi & Teresa.

I love it down there, in fact the first wedding I assisted for Daniel with was at Peppers Manor in Suttons Forest. So off we go for a quick lunch in Canley Heights before hopping on the Hume Hwy to catch some of the autumn colours before they shut up shop for another year. I must say.. it was a bit chilly but the colours were phenomenal. I only shot for part of the trip, but captured a nice series and didn’t want to relegate them to the photography vault on my backup drives. But.. ill let the photos do the talking.

After shooting the wonderful engagement of Katie & Bryce in nearby Exeter, I definitely want to spend more time in the beautiful Southern Highlandsin late 2012/2013. So if you love it too, want a shoot or are planning your own engagement/wedding in the area then by all means please drop me a line.

Peta & Paul – A Portrait Session in the Domain

This is a look back to a cute couple and set shot around the Domain/Mrs Macquaries Chair in early 2011. I was assisting for Daniel K Cheung at the time. These two had such a great connection, they were yet to get married but are totally infatuated with each other. I normally dont shoot much when I am assisting, but was able to a little on this day.

Whilst doing some house keeping on the weekend I stumbled across this set.. and I thought.. these are too nice not to share. So here they are.. Peta & Paul.

These have a bit of a different look to my usual.. as I was using an older camera which is not currently profiled. These were individually edited and then applied with my own ‘Fuji Astia’ preset through Alien Skin Exposure 4.

Some more fresh stuff to come up on the blog this week. A big thank you once again to Daniel for the opportunity with this couple.
