It was time for me to return that trust, and this is what we produced one Sunday in early March at the beautiful Palm Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches.

A few polaroids from the afternoon at the end (and a few accidental but cool multiple exposures). Thanks again to you both for a rad afternoon, it really is a fantastic way to finish up a Sunday afternoon. Cant wait until the wedding in October!

We met up for a quick pizza and coffee, but had to abandon our first location plans due to security, so headed over to Centennial for the rest of the afternoon. I took them to some new spots, and tried some new things and all in all, we had a tip top time. I think the photos show that, and a very big thank you from me goes out to Luke and Miia for being themselves, and making my job seemingly easy.

There is a special shot in here too, about half way.. a very tall vertical panorama (it was done on purpose) and it is one of my favourite shots in the set. There are a few other panorama composites in here as well, which have turned out fantastic.

The choice of Centennial Park was almost too easy; due to its nice quiet/secluded locations, dog friendly tracks and some of my personal favourite spots for utilizing the afternoon light. Spring time along with the flowers, smells and warmth throws up some amazing golden light at the end of the day. I also used this opportunity to have some fun with my newly acquired Mamiya (that will feature in a post to come).

Just a little blog tonight, the full blog is being prepared for tomorrow. This sequence of Oscar deserved its own little post. Perhaps the start of something new? The Dachshund Adventures. He is a curious fellow with so much energy, he certainly added an extra dimension to the shoot, even if it was chasing him around the park.

I love this time of year. You get this beautiful soft golden light, the afternoon breeze and all the associated spring smells. I never grow tired of Centennial Park and all it has to offers. There are so many little spots where you can shoot without being bothered, where everyone can have some quiet time and enjoy the afternoon as it unfolds.

I have known Ally & Dave for a little while now, I was stoked when Ally put up her hand for a shoot when I advertised during winter. They also brought along their very cute and rascally dog Oscar, and he will feature quite heavily in the full set.

A busy week of editing.. weddings.. portraits and personal work. I thought I would put up a quick preview so that I can focus on what I need to finish and prepare some more awesome things for the blog.

These two have a lovely story, finding each other later in life through a mutual love for running and swimming, ever so strengthened by their daily swim from Manly to Shelly Beach and back as part of the Bold & Beautiful Swim Squad (some funny moments with the bright pink swim gear during the wedding). They have formed a strong bond with friends and family both local and abroad. This was so apparent with all of the guests on the day, the family that travelled from afar and the fun everybody had together. They were after a more traditional set of photos, which I think was achieved with a good amount of story telling thrown in.

A big thank you to David Reid for having me along, it was a great day and I got to enjoy some of my favourite Sydney venues.

This was a very personal wedding; the union of two people who keep their friends and family very close to them. The feeling throughout the day was so very intimate, and the location was perfect for this kind of wedding. I think the photos show how sweet, fun and loving this wedding was, probably much more than any words I can write here.

A very big thank you to Cassy & Ptolemy for being awesome. An even bigger thank you to Daniel Cheung for having me along to shoot, for a fun road road trip. In a few short days we combined lots of driving, some whirlwind client meetings, a little bit of exploring, this beautiful wedding and of course, some fantastic photographs.

So today for you I have a shoot I shot late last month with Clancee & George. Clancee is a model I have shot a few times, and George was looking to build his portfolio. So I did a shoot for George and they had both showed interest in a couples portrait session with me… so with the fading light we shot around Pirrama Park at Pyrmont Point. Its a great spot because there are so many places to shoot there… and even with the short amount of time we were able to capture some lovely photos for them to have. They had seen some of my previous portrait shoots and realised they didnt have any photos together, naturally I was happy to oblige.

I appreciate all of the entries that were sent through to me. It is nice to have the support of so many people already, that giving a little back is my way of saying thank you. There is definitely an honourable mention required… for another entry that stood out. I received this entry from Jimi Ang and it made me laugh for a good 5 minutes. He always such a great sense of humour!

This all came back full circle to my recent exhibition… so I have decided to give away a framed print from my recent exhibition at the Salerno Gallery! After much deliberation of which to offer I have decided on the following image from the Mahon Pool in Maroubra (shot with my Yashicamat 124g 6×6 TLR!). Entrants will be required to take a photo (in any way.. camera.. phone.. film..) of where they would hang this print!

I have shot Sonya before (model) and she had asked if I could take some photos of the Kombi her boyfriend (Jake) had just finished restoring. I was more than to oblige and was lucky to get a bit of time after the Kombi shoot to do a Portrait session. As we enjoyed the afternoon at Newport Beach the sun just dipped enough for me to capture some lovely naturally lit shots with the sun behind them. I cant wait to share the photos of the Kombi and the rest of the set later this week.

You might have noticed the blog content fill out a lot more, target goal is to have everything ready and the blogs flowing from Easter onwards. Cant wait!
