I. Frame. People – About Jack Chauvel

Jack Chauvel. I Frame People JCP Jack Chauvel Photography

Hello! My name is Jack and I Frame People.

Let me talk a little bit about the importance of communication. l will be honest, I like to communicate, across many different mediums and in many different ways. It just so happens that when you put a camera in my hand, I can communicate to you in a real, natural, candid and emotional fashion and that is just from taking photos as I see it, from my perspective.

As I have grown and matured I have communicated in many different ways, and finally after growing up with my fathers photography printed and framed around me I picked up a camera, and I found another way to communicate. A way that empowered me to communicate on a whole new level.

I have made a point to discuss the importance of communication above because it has a big part to play in the process of choosing a photographer. There needs to be a connection, a level of trust and a level of comfort so that  I can communicate my perspective in a series of photos which reflect who you are. Yes you will have a desired style in mind, and a desired look and if you are reading this about page then you are attracted to what I produce.. but at the end of the day when you choose your photographer (and if you choose me) you are choosing their perspective.

So now that the above ‘communication’ is done and dusted.. lets look a little closer at who and what I am. I am.. Jack.. born and raised in Undercliffe in Inner West, Sydney. I have many great enjoyments, one of those being my partner of 7 years Rose as well as food, rugby (sports in general), photography (duh), coffee (snob),  film.. (shooting/developing/printing), music, games, camping, fishing and badminton (ok maybe not badminton).

This will be my 5th year of shooting and my 3rd year of shooting weddings. I have a lot of thanks and gratitude towards the people in my life that have helped me evolve and pushed me into getting my own brand up and running. None less than Daniel K Cheung who has mentored, guided and dropped me in the deep end over the last 3 years. It is without his constant push for me to go outside of my comfort zone that I would not be where I am right now. I believe in practicing your craft.. and finding your voice. I take lots of photos, not just weddings.. not just couples.. not just people. My first love in photography was seascapes/landscapes and they still give me a lot of joy. I often wake up well before the birds and head down to a beach and fight the wind, salt, sea, sand and cold to captured a sunrise. I think having this voice, and honing mycraft allows me to give you the best of me, and with that comes awesome photos.

Have a look through my photos, they spell out the other 1000 words and stories I simply cant say with words… and if you like the above then why not contact me and find out more.
